Governance Support and Training Services

You think you know how it all works, and then you get into governance!

Chairing numerous boards has given me wide ranging experience to draw on when supporting others. I won’t give generic advice about best practice, but will guide you as to what works best for your organisation to meet your strategic goals.

I specialise in:

  • Government/regulatory sector, not-for-profit and healthcare governance
  • Coaching and mentoring new directors (either new to governance, or to the board)
  • Coaching and mentoring the chair
  • Supporting new board formation, the shift to a new entity structure or boards managing rapid growth of services
  • Conflict resolution, board culture and interpersonal dynamics (drawing on 20 years of working in mental health and wellbeing)

It might also be helpful to discuss:

  • The CE-Chair relationship
  • Strategic planning
  • Senior leadership skills for executive director roles
  • Board evaluation (including a focus on the chair)
  • Full board training needs including facilitation with a bicultural approach to working in partnership with te tiriti o waitangi
